Our comfortable dining room, like the rest of the house, has retained many of its original Victorian period features. Including picture rails and a gorgeous tiled fireplace. So lovely to have flaming coal and logs crackling away while you enjoy breakfast on a gloomy winters morning. This pleasant space is available to you for your entire stay.
Warm pastries and continental choices will keep hunger at bay until your hot food arrives. We make breakfast cookies, which are full of seeds and fruit and are suitable for vegans and are gluten free. Our home made breakfast muffins are vegetarian
There is lots of homemade jams, local marmalade, Marmite, honey, treacle and a hunk of butter. Please ask if you prefer a dairy free alternative.
The filter coffee comes on automatically at 6.30am. Once breakfast service is finished, the pod machine is available for your entire stay. Whether you like a mug, or prefer a china cup and saucer, there is plenty of choice.
If you’re an early riser, you can pop down for a coffee, and if its a sunny morning, why not enjoy it in the secluded seating area in the garden
THE FULL SCOTTISH
A hearty plate of Scottish fare. Sourced locally. We offer: Back bacon, (please let us know if you would prefer smoked or streaky), haggis, two wee or usually one big pork sausage, beef sausages are available). Then there is black pudding and round Lorne sausage. To finish up, we have free range eggs one, or two. Tattie scone, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms.
You will find 4 different mustards and the ubiquitous red and brown sauce. Also Lea and perrins for your tomato juice
Of course you could have a selection in a panini, or french toast, or how about a toasted bacon sandwich.
FULL SCOTTISH VEGETARIAN BREAKFAST
This plate is adaptable and we think it shows a good range of choices for dietary requirements. There is “Cheatin bacon” we may use other vegan products. Then we have vegetarian haggis and our homemade breakfast pattie, made with lentils, sweet potato, kale and lots more. The recipe will change from time to time. They are gluten free and vegetarian at the moment, but Chef is working on a Vegan recipe. choose 1, or two eggs how you like em and finally, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes.
As always, Panini, French toast and Toasties are an option with any of the above items.
FRESH AND DRIED FRUIT
There are plenty of healthy options for breakfast. Great choice of fruit and juices as well as a large choice of teas. There are also fresh tea infusers
There is a good choice of cereals including very nutty muesli. Help yourself to natural yogurt.
